Roman Tufted Goose

The Roman Tufted is a smaller white goose weighing between 10 and 12 pounds. Its distinguishing characteristic is the small tuft of feathers on its head. It is a very friendly, prolific and beautiful goose

There is a Roman breed without the tuft but these are extremely rare in North America. Many years ago Taiwanese goose breeders imported the Roman breed from Denmark to improve the productivity of their native Chinese geese. Their use is still widespread in Taiwan as they make a good, compact meat goose even though they are smaller than the geese we typically use in North America for meat production.
