Pilgrim Goose

This breed was developed by Oscar Grow in the early 1900's in Iowa. It is one of the few American bred geese.

A unique characteristic of the Pilgrim goose is that its sex can be determined from the color of its down or feathers. The males hatch yellow and turn white, often with touches of gray on them. The females hatch yellow and gray and eventually become all gray. The females look much like a Toulouse though their color is lighter and they often have white faces.
